Dubai Police have apprehended Faisal Fareed, the third accused in a gold smuggling case

 

Faisal was the one who sent a package to the UAE embassy Charge d'Affaires Rashed Khamis Alshemelli, in which 30 kgs of gold were discovered.

Faisal Fareed UAE is the third accused in the NIA investigation. On Tuesday, an NIA judge issued an open-ended Non-Bailable Warrant against him. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued a Lookout Circular to intercept him if he enters or leaves the nation via any Indian entry port. The NIA also requested that Interpol give a Blue Notice against him.

However, whether Faisal will be handed over to the NIA or Customs first is unclear. With terrorism charges filed against Faisal by the NIA, the counter-terrorism agency is expected to take his custody first. "In 2018, India and the UAE signed a counter-terrorism treaty, which will aid in the extradition of suspects from abroad."
